Beautifying our kitchen may not be that expensive tough. By simply putting better designs of moldings along the edges of your cupboard will have new look to your kitchen. If you are on a budget, replacing taps and showerheads and putting some attractive cabinets in the bathroom will achieve a dramatic effect without too much outlay. With any DIY project, I would be inclined to go for the easiest first – take a look at whether your curtains, floors and other fabrics need to be replaced. There are cheap home decorating ideas that can have a very rich look. Our homes reflect who we are and how we want to live our lives.Cheap home decor dose not have to look cheap if we mix it just right with other items. I like to surround myself with the colors I like. My home is my castle and I am the queen and it is the one place that things will be to my liking. It is my private place. We had been planning on building a house for about 10 years and I bought a new book or magazine every few days. I had a whole list of ideas and books with lots of marked pages. And I tried to use them all.

It took us 2 years to build and by the time the house was done there was not must left for interior decorating. Decorating on a budget began.Well being determined like I am I got my books out and started researching what I could do with stuff I already had and how I could make good use of yard sale items. It surprises me the number of things we can do with picture frames. I started buying all the frames I could find at yard sales. With some when the pictures were ugly, I just went to the local craft store and found some beautiful prints for 4 or 5 dollars. I added a nice mat and I now have some lovely pictures that I get compliments on all the time. In one room I just hung the bare frames. I used all shapes and different finishes. There does not have to be a pattern to this. After you get them hung stand back and look at them. Now imagine what they can say to you. I went and found some small wooden letters and painted them black. I now added them to my wall in and around my frames and the effect was stunning.  Read more... The decorations have come down after Christmas and the rooms are looking rather bare. Winter is often a drab time of year and, even though the promise of Spring is just around the corner, why not liven your January days up by investing in some home decorating. Home decorating ideas do not have to break the bank; there are plenty of ideas which can make an immediate impact on the interior of your home without spending too much money. At the other extreme, however, you could hire an interior decorator and go the whole hog! Whatever you choose, however, there are plenty of home decorating ideas around – from chic and sophisticated to ultra modern, or the contemporary cottage look with beams and home-crafted cushions. To change the look on a shoestring, alter the positioning of the furniture. If, previously, it was against the walls, pull it all out and reposition it at angles. What about changing the dining room to the lounge and the lounge to the dining room for an immediate change? Even in the smallest houses, there is usually sufficient room to make this change. I did this one weekend a few years ago and it has become an almost annual alteration. My front room [the traditional lounge area] runs through into the traditional dining area with a large opened out area in the wall between. This ‘opened-out’ area was knocked through before I bought the house, and it is neither an open-plan nor an appropriate size to be closed off by double doors. It looks what it is – a big square gap in the wall, with a wood surround to finish it off! I have actually arranged with a local builder to have this altered to a brick-faced archway. Budget Home Decorating is a phrase that many people are finding is a relevant term in daily conversation. Stricter budgeting has become a part of many of our lives, mine included.

If you have a lonely wall in a room, do what I did when I lived in a Craftsman style home – I found an old fireplace mantel (not the entire unit, just the mantel!), painted it white and placed it on a narrow wall that was painted Hunter Green. I decorated the mantel as well as the area under it, and the overall look was beautiful in the room. Most guests didn’t even realize it was a faux fireplace!
