The best time to bring the new cat home is when you will be less busy and you will have some time to spend with the two cats. Do not bring the cat home during holidays or when you have friends over.

The new cat must also be taken to the vet before introducing it to the other cat. Make sure the cat is properly checked and that it has no diseases. Also make sure it gets the right vaccines.
