Important Home Security Tips for Keeping Your Home Safe and Secure
Having a home security system that is professionally installed and monitored by a centralized monitoring center is a big step in providing safety and protection for your family and home. A home security system utilizes the latest in technology and human effort to provide full coverage for your home in the event of an intrusion or home invasion.
Police can be dispatched fast to prevent a successful robbery from occurring. In addition to having a home security system, there are other recommendations for home security that will help keep your home safe and secure. Many experts agree that combining these recommendations with a professionally installed home security system will greatly reduce your chances of robbery or home intrusion.
Experts agree that having good locks on all exterior doors is a good idea. A one-inch deadbolt lock on each door is recommended. These are harder to tamper with and provide excellent protection against thieves who may try to pick the lock to enter the home or force the door down. Having good solid locks provides adequate protection when combined with a home security system. It is important to make sure all exterior doors are locked tight at night, so burglars cannot get in through an unlocked door.
Medical Coders Can Make Use Of These Three Work-At-Home Tips
As technology heads for the better and employers look for ways to cut costs, more and more of us are working from the comforts of home, reports The Wall Street Journal.
In a previous post, we talked about work-at-home opportunities for medical coders and ways to spot work-at-home scams. So say for instance you’ve landed that work-at-home gig like so many medical coders have. The work is not done and over as yet because working at home is an art. The Wall Street Journal article has some some good tips but like always, we get down to the nitty-gritty on My Coding Career.
Here we’ve got 3 practical tips from ladies who work from home.
Tip 1:
No jammies. The cliché about working from the comforts of home is that you get to be in your P.J.’s all day. But many say getting dressed boosts your spirit and your productivity too. Supercoder.com’s Leesa A. Israel, CPC, CUC, CMBS says, “I get up and get dressed every morning as if I’m going to the office,” adding, “Not working in my jammies keeps me focused.”
If you’re a lady, a little make-up helps too. I write articles from the comforts of home, and my employer just signed up for an Internet phone service that has video capabilities. Yikes. Now when I talk to my coworkers, my face shows up on my monitor and theirs. I have gathered quickly that a little mascara dulls the pain.
The Wide Appeal of Equestrian Home Decor
Equestrian home decor gives horse lovers a chance to show their love and appreciation for their four-legged friends. There are all kinds of home furnishings, accessories, and accents that feature a horse of some sort. It might be a table lamp with a horse sculpture on the base, a comforter that depicts horses running across a meadow, or a piece of wall art with a horse theme.
There are many reasons for the wide appeal of equestrian home decor. First, many people simply admire the form and beauty of the animal. Also, a horse might be reminiscent of time spent on a grandparent’s farm or a summer camp where you learned to ride.
You might have seen examples of equestrian home decor in all sorts of homes, but the horse-themed decor that we’re most fond of is found in homes with one of the casual styles of home decorating, such as western, rustic, southwestern, or country. Some people might be surprised to know that an increasingly large percentage of horse-themed decor is in homes of people that do not own horses.
Take a moment to think about your favorite horses from books, movies, or television. A few that come to mind for us are Trigger (the horse of Roy Rogers), Silver and Scout (the horses of the Lone Ranger and his sidekick Tonto), Black Beauty, My Friend Flicka, and the mischievous Mr. Ed. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, many children in grade school had a lunch box that featured one of these horses.
Home Security Systems – 5 Effective Tips For Ensuring Harmony In Your Home!
A locked gate or padlocked door is no longer enough to provide absolute privacy, leave alone security in today’s changing times; with even relatively peaceful localities reporting a spate of break-ins, instances of vandalism and rise in cases of burglaries (both planned and opportunistic), there is a greater need for homeowners to have more than just a dog barking in their yards as a security measure.
Not everyone can afford to keep a big, fierce dog for security reasons and with sophisticated crimes occurring today, the pet is at much as risk of being harmed considering the lack of any conscience criminals today have, as the homeowner and family members may be. So, there is a need to increase knowledge about various effective and affordable home security equipment and services one can avail of in order to check the risk their homes and families are at, without these.
With a 10% increase in burglaries reported by the federal statistics of the US, the market has seen a spurt in the purchase of security and surveillance equipment not only by big business owners but home owners and small office owners as well as healthcare, gas stations and airports.
